I'm Here to Report...

That there's really nothing to report. I had another adjustment yesterday. While the girl was taking off my upper wire to put on a new wire, two of my brackets popped off. So I had to go through the joy of the lip stretcher, the grinding off of the glue, and the toxic smelling liquid put on my teeth. Fun times. The new wire brought new pain to my upper teeth. I've been living off soup for two days and am starving and cranky.
I noticed today that my bite is really screwed now. It's crazy how much it changed overnight. When I bite down, I can totally stick my tongue through the huge gap between the upper and lower teeth. It's really beautiful. I should take a picture and post it, but I'm lazy. I guess the braces are doing their job. I want to have the surgery already. I go to see the surgeon on December 1. The ortho said that if the surgeon thinks my teeth are "good enough" (position-wise) to have the surgery now, then the ortho can do whatever changes to my teeth after the surgery. The only problem is, I will have to be put on a cancellation list and be called in at the last minute ~ which is fine with me. Otherwise, I will have to have the surgery in the summer (ugh!) because I will be starting back to school in February. I hope it works out and I have the surgery in December. Keep you fingers crossed for me! Congratulations to all of you who have had surgery recently!

*sigh* Don't you just long for the day you can share big news? Proclaim the almighty "I have a date!" ? I understand the bite change ups: really wierd how such little changes add up to a huge difference.

I have the highest respect for those on surgery cancellation lists. I think my head would go through the roof every time the phone rang :)

Will keep hoping that December works out for you ( and that you get more than soup in the near future!)

Hi Aimee,
Thanks for linking to my blog! You should definitely take LOTS of ugly bite pictures while you still can. TRUST ME. You will be so glad. Take all kinds. Take all those profile photos you hate.

You'll need them for really good side by side comparisons when you're all done with surgery.

Just remember - you don't have to show them to anyone until you've got your lovely 'after' pictures. :)

Hey..., it's funny pictures!
Look, she was still smiling even though she is using braces!

Are you smiling, Aimee?

Hi there, I have been following your blog for a few months. I am 33 and I had braces when I was a teenager for almost 6 years (!!). The ortho tried to fix my crossbite, malocclusion, overbite but alas told me surgery was the only choice. Now I dont mean to sound weird when I say this, but people tell me I am a stunning looking girl. I have big lips and cheekbones that hide the bite issues. But alas I recently saw a photo of myself on a trip (profile shot) and thought OMG I have a majorly receded chin! Well long story short, I went and saw the maxillofacial surgeon and ortho, I have been booked in for double-jaw surgery in 6 mos, braces go on next month. My teeth as super straight hence the short period of correction. I am so afraid that it is going to change the way I look, in a negative way, not positive. The dr's tend to disagree, they said it is going to look amazing. Did anyone else have this fear? Thanks! Will be starting my own blog soon as well:)
