Adjustment time again...

I had an adjustment today. The girl took off 4 of my brackets (ouch ~ yes I am a big baby when it comes to my teeth) so she could put them back on in different positions. Oh yay. I hate those lip stretcher things and the taste of the stuff they put on your teeth to prep them is awful. So anyway, here I am with my brackets in a new position and the same wire. She said I would probably have some "discomfort" this evening. I'm sure I will.

Update: My teeth moved so quickly that I had to go in the next day and have my upper wire clipped. Today is Saturday (4 days later) and the wire is poking my cheek again. I can't believe how fast my teeth are moving since she repositioned the brackets. I was looking last night and my two front teeth are separating. I hope they move fast enough so my teeth are ready for the surgery in December!

Oooh, that really stinks to get brackets off and then put back on! Thank god I haven't had that done, but my sister had one broken (a ceramic) and re-put on.
Well, I just wanted to say "hi" to a fellow ortho-blogger! Talk to ya' later! Good luck!

Did they just not put them in the correct spot in the first place? I've always wondered how the Ortho knows where to put them when your teeth are usually all over the place at the start. Do the use the gum line as a guide or the tip of your teeth. Dunno.

Hi Jen,
The brackets were on right in the first place. :) He moved them so that he could move my teeth into a different position now that they have moved quite a bit from their original location. I hear that's not uncommon. The position of the brackets determines how the teeth will move.

I'm also having upper and lower jaw surgery this summer (ah, who am I kidding? It's next week!).

So I'm adding you to my blog so that we can have some moral support through the blogosphere during our recoveries!

The etching is awful indeed. Some kind of an acid I assume. And the bonding smells like super-glue :D

My damons also moved pretty fast. I was lucky to be close to the clinic and they'd cut the wire short anytime I would want it. It's good that it's working well and fast ..

Congratulations for the good work so far, hang in there, we'll be perfect in no time ;)
